Just because you see ads for Rosetta Stone everywhere, does not mean it’s the best software to learn a language. In fact, I think it’s the worst software you can use! Honestly, I’d like to know if anybody has ever had success using just Rosetta Stone to learn another language! Personally, I prefer Rocket Spanish to Rosetta Stone any day.
Add a Comment
[..YouTube..] Amen to that! Over-priced, clunky, dull (oh, soooooo dull) and I have never, ever met a single person who successfully learned a language using RS.
[..YouTube..] @csm1701 – I know right?! Uhhgg!
I’ve been learning Spanish for a year, and had a lot of success with Berlitz in-person instruction, but it’s really expensive. I also got Rosetta Stone but it was incompatible with 64 bit computers (which by the way are becoming more and more prevalent), and by the time I realized this I was not allowed to return it. My advice is to either move to a country to learn by immersion or date a native speaker for an extended period of time.
I agree! Luckily for people that can’t do immersion or date a native speaker there are still options. Language exchanges via Skype are good, and I really like LoMasTV too! Not as good as immersion, but maybe the next best thing!
I think RS is good to a point but the dollars to get there are ridiculous. For me it was good
practice in hearing the language and in pronouncing the words but it only takes you so
far–not nearly enough for the price.
And I hate how they manage the price by going on Amazon or E Bay and making sure that it sells at or about list price. People should be able to buy their earlier versions ( at least) if
they want to. What started as a good idea has become predatory.
Thanks for sharing your experience. The more people I talk to about Rosetta Stone, the more I hear these same things over and over. Have you had success with other programs? What is your best language learning tip?
Lomastv is boring, nothing there to hold your interest long although I like how you can slow down the speaking. Spanishpod is good but all the speakers talk too fast in spanish and you can’t slow them down. I have a spanish teacher once for 1.5 hours per week, but he is disorganized and the class is not structured. Any one have a good plan except immersion, not practicable.
What? I love LoMasTv! I just learned how to make Tres Leche Cake from LoMasTV!
But you’re right, it’s not for everyone. Have you tried doing Rocket Spanish? I really like their program! Also, there are lots of great videos on YouTube to teach Spanish. Languages Out There provides ideas, topics and lesson structure – maybe your Spanish teacher could use some of their lesson plans to help you.
[..YouTube..] Guess what Asia, you are hot and have awesome eyes. Yummm.
[..YouTube..] @bloodshotriddims Wow! thanks!
[..YouTube..] I worked for Rosetta Stone thinking I could learn a couple of languages for free, and I studied every shift for almost two years, and I can attest that it doesn’t work at all.
Watch my video Pep Talk to New Managers inspired by working there.
[..YouTube..] @ritaandreeva I loved your Pep Talk to New Manager’s video, especially a part about your employee’s doing voodoo! Very Funny!
I’m not surprised that you didn’t have any success with Rosetta Stone, I haven’t met any one who has, including myself! I’m starting to think that Rosetta Stone just may be a conspiracy!!
[..YouTube..] Being a user of Rosetta Stone for a year and 7 months, everything… EVERYTHING you said about RS, is a lie.
From it being too expensive (Do the math for: a class per credit+ books
+ gas + time spent in and out of class. Or other products) RS is WAY cheaper and less time consuming) to the features of the program (Version 4 TOALe) RS is more effective, more flexible and portable
Effective? I speak Spanish without a accent. Mexicans who I talk to on the phone ask me where I’m from! ¡TOMA!
Pikolow1, I’ll call BS on that!
Unless you come from a Spanish-speaking background or are some kind of savant there is no way you speak without an accent after 7 months using RS. So that is definitely a lie on your part…
I speak Spanish fluently, let’s hear you speak and see if you don’t have an accent?!
[..YouTube..] @Pikolow – I’m glad that Rosetta Stone worked for you! You’re definitely an exception, since nearly every person I’ve ever spoken with that has used Rosetta Stone shares my opinion that it sucks. Have you ever tried any of the other programs out there? just curious. Either way, I’m happy that you found something that worked for you and that you are now a Spanish speaker! Congratulations!
[..YouTube..] Hey I have to agree alittle with you Im in french class at school and I think that I learn grammar better in a class but I like learning vocab and practicing my listening and speaking better on RS
[..YouTube..] Rosetta Stone is a tool, a tool as only as good as the person using it. Based on your examples in the video it looks like you only got through level 1 (the apple is green). Every example you’ve given for Rosetta Stone to improve isn’t offered by any other program out there. You can’t practice with other people when listening to audio cd’s. Rosetta stone can also be used on your smart phone. It can also be used on the web from any computer.
You reviewed an app you barely used.
[..YouTube..] @pdlsuper7 – I’m glad that you’ve got a plan and that it’s working for you! I like the pimsleur cds for audio practice!
Stick with it!
[..YouTube..] @kbrinks When I used Rosetta Stone it was the software that I had to install on my computer, and I couldn’t access it from the web. Maybe that’s a new thing that they are doing! If so great!
It sounds like you had a good experience with Rosetta Stone and I’d love to hear about it. When I tried it, I really didn’t like it. This video is my opinion, but I’m happy to hear your opinion too. What language are you learning? Have you tried other programs besides Rosetta Stone?
[..YouTube..] I speak and write 3 additional languages now thanks to Rosetta (Chinese – Business, French & Japanese – Conversational) I found it easy and extremely effective, provided you stick with it. I am confused by your review though, I have mine installed on 2 cpu’s, my phone, and the audio discs on my iPod. Also I have set up free VOIP chats with native speakers through their community.
[..YouTube..] Maybe you got a bad version?
[..YouTube..] Got a friend DL’ing and testing several Languages, I plan on Learning 4 languages(currently only speak English, with a semester of german in highschool, and a little spanish from Co-workers) we’re going to learn Spanish, German, Japanese, and Hebrew.
[..YouTube..] @languagewrangler Rosetta Stone is like a toy, it doesn’t really teach. it is a conspiracy to make money. It can be a good supplement to something else, like having a friend to practice the language with, but it is not enough by itself. It doesn’t really teach you grammar or to think for yourself.
[..YouTube..] You must have spent a mere 5 minutes with Rosetta Stone, because everything you said is bullshit. Were you using Version 1? You certainly didn’t use the latest version, nor did you put any effort into it. You can’t use it in the car? Ha! Apparently your pirate version didn’t come with audio CDs like the rest of us received.
[..YouTube..] @TomZentra I’d love to hear 5 honest reasons why you think Rosetta Stone is the best software around.
[..YouTube..] @Minkata1 Wow! That’s impressive!
Are you planning to learn them all at the same time, or one right after another?
[..YouTube..] Languagew so what do you recommend?
[..YouTube..] @kronosak47 I’m so glad you asked! I don’t think any one program will get you all the way fluent, but I really like Rocket Spanish and Tell Me More the best for software programs and I also like the Pimsleur course too. As for home study, I just started trying out Warren Hardy Spanish and so far I LOVE that!
[..YouTube..] @languagewrangler We’ve decided not to do Hebrew, but we will be taking breaks inbetween languages. My reason for saying this is because I believe that as we try to learn the languages, we will forget some of the languages that we’ve previously learned. Japanese First, Wish me luck!
[..YouTube..] I think Rosetta Stone really does work. It’s based around immersion – instead of translating the word into English, so you’re always using English as a base, its translating the word to a picture which universal people understand. So instead of thinking “chico=boy” it means chico = (a picture of a boy). And about how it doesn’t teach grammar.. well when you were growing up and learning English and you were maybe 2 or 3, you weren’t thinking about verb conjugations, but instead you were (cont)
[..YouTube..] (cont) thinking about “The apple is green.” And you mentioned how it’s outdated because you can’t take it anywhere? I put Rosetta Stone on my laptop… So I can take it anywhere really. And you can’t look at pictures while in your car, because you’re supposed to be driving. The best way to become fluent in a foreign language is to go to the country and be forced to speak it every day, but Rosetta Stone is the next best thing if you don’t want to move across the world just to learn a language.
[..YouTube..] It’s suckiness is multiplied but how grossly overpriced it is
[..YouTube..] @SUpersaiyajinjerkbag haha! yep! Agreed!
[..YouTube..] @slavesbydesign the inability to take it anywhere, refers to the fact that I can’t access the software from any computer other than the one I installed it on. I prefer web based applications so I can use them from any computer with the internet.
[..YouTube..] What’s the deal with this program? I remember trying the Japanese version years ago and thinking it was total garbage, the type of third-rate software you’d find in shareware databases in the 90′s, but it’s apparently quite popular. I can only guess they must have a strong marketing department in the US.
[..YouTube..] @slavesbydesign Cool story bro.
[..YouTube..] @sacrisesma Indeed it does. There are ads for Rosetta Stone everywhere!
[..YouTube..] @sacrisesma Hahahahahaha you’re a faggot. Fuck you
[..YouTube..] @sacrisesma I was trying to leave a helpful comment on a video that showed what I thought of this product you had to go act like you were 14 years old with that juvenile comment. I really hate people like you
[..YouTube..] @kbrinks Every heard of Skype? I guess you never heard of that before? Because you can go to many language websites and find native speakers and talk to them on Skype. Guess what it’s FREE.
[..YouTube..] @ZekeComa Good luck learning a language over skype without picture association. You’re not better off repeating what a tape says. Failing is free!
[..YouTube..] @kbrinks Well I have my native language to actually help me with complex grammar rules, dictionary, native friends, skype, books, movies, etc to help me with that. I can easily put words with pictures that actually animate in my own brain. I’ve learned over 500 words faster reading an actual book that cost $30 than with a $500 app that I can easily do in my head (pictures). I can use Anki and put a picture with a word and that application is FREE.
[..YouTube..] Hi, You forgot to tell us that, if you repeat what they say, you can actually say whatever you wants. Instead of ga, you can just say a and it’ll be granted for right. One thing is good about it. Grammar can be sometimes really painful to begin with. So if they just show you this and this, it’s okay, but they actually don’t explain anything. So Rosetta Stone yes. But only combining it with audio books and books. You are right anyway. Good luck with your language learning.
[..YouTube..] @kbrinks I agree with kbrinks. How you heard of rosetta stone Totale. You talk to native speakers and talk about real things. This ties in with mp3s for your ipod so you can listen to it in your car. Also, you can put it on your Iphone and ipod so I don’t know who told you that they didn’t have that. Next time, please get your facts straight.
Spot on Languagewrangler…
Rosetta Stone is the best marketed program out there so people assume it must work. When it doesn’t work people just assume it was their fault. Meanwhile people keep buying this terrible program… *sigh*
[..YouTube..] Why does it looks like she is acting?
[..YouTube..] obviously another impatient person who obviously expected to become fluent in a foreign language within a couple of days.
rosetta stone is awesome and works fantastically …. i recommend anyone to give it a shot. however, i will admit that it is impossible to become fluent via rosetta stone soley. but it really builds that bridge between your native and a foreign language …. you will learn a lot more than you can imagine.
it requires patience and commitment . just like any other study.
[..YouTube..] I agree, and in my opinion the best way to learn a new language is to listen to it a lot a lot and a lot try to get the accent stuck in your head and practice it a lot. I watch a lot of japanese anime and sometimes i dont even read the subtitles ;D
[..YouTube..] @languagewrangler so are you into asian guys since your names asia? ^^
I completed the basic Rosetta Stone Latin America course, levels 1-5,before TOTALe, last year in 3 months. I loved it, but realized immediately I needed more that Rosetta Stone didn’t offer in terms of vocabulary and conjugation assistance. About the same time, TOTALe was introduced, with the highlight being the opportunity to have “classes” of no more than 4 students with 1 coach. In 8 months now, I have done over 450 50 minute classes, and the coaches are wonderful. Despite that, I uses StudySpanish.com, LoMasTV.com and a couple Spanish textbooks to supplement what I continue to learn with Rosetta Stone.
I believe Rosetta Stone to be the easiest and most fun method to learn a language I’ve used, but it is not enough by itself. I’d like to try some of the others like Rocket Spanish and Fluenz, but there’s no way I’m going to start all over studying vocabulary I’m already using everyday in my Rosetta Stone classes. Yes, the basic Rosetta Stone package is expensive, but once you renew your TOTALe membership, it can be done for as little as $10 a month, basically the same as LoMasTV.com. That’s ridiculously cheap for the opportunity to attend Spanish speaking classes as often as you like. I’m a long way from fluent, mostly because natural Spanish speakers still speak too fast for me, but I’m also absolutely positive I could convey anything I wanted to to any Spanish speaker who would give me a minute to say what I wanted. I knew one year wouldn’t be enough to become fluent, but you’re not going to be great at much of anything in only one year…….sports, music, education, or languages.
[..YouTube..] Omg, another dumbass hater who is soo impatient and thinks she is going to learn it fast. ITS ANOTHER FUCKING LANGUAGE! YOU CAN’T LEARN IT FAST. God damnit. Dumbass.
I studied Spanish for five years and never had a single conversation in Spanish. I’ve been doing Rosetta Stone for nine weeks and now speak better than I ever have. The online classes are what really make it great. It’s like having an hourlong conversation class every week. But you definitely should use every tool you have. SpanishDict is great; I consult it constantly. I turned my GPS, Wii Fit, and FIFA 11 video game to Spanish, I read blogs in Spanish, I watch Spanish movies, and of course, talk to fluent speakers.
[..YouTube..] O.o ive had it for 2 weeks, doing about an hour a day. Rosetta Stone was worked PERFECTLY for me. you said that you can express yourself in a language with this product, as in make our own sentences or answer questions. It DOES frequently ask you questions that you must respond correctly to. And the “random pictures” that it comes up with telling you the apple is green DO help. I feel like you didnt use this product for more than 10 minutes.
[..YouTube..] I agree with you 100%!
I tried their Demo some years ago and it was absolutely boring and quite artificial.
[..YouTube..] I think it depends on how you learn. For me it works fine. I think maybe you learn differently. RS is great for getting started and learning the fundamentals of a language. Is it better than spending 5 years in Mexico to learn? No, but it’s far and away better than how they taught me in High School.
I think you are way off in saying that it sucks. It’s the best software out there right now in my opinion.
[..YouTube..] Thank you for uploading this video. Some points I agree with some i don’t. i do believe it is wildly overpriced. however, it seems that you have only looked at level 1 of a language. once you get into level 2 and 3 they actually do touch on the specifics such as noun cases or verb conjugations. i speak korean and live in korea. I looked at rosetta stone just for shits and giggles, and i must say i was impressed. especially in the higher levels.
[..YouTube..] Also i am not positive but i thought it was portable onto your smart phone but it’s @languagewrangler limited to the amount of storage you have on your phone. but don’t quote me on this. one last thing the spanish market is VAST there are plenty of programs for free or under $50 that are just fine. but for learning more “exotic” languages rosetta is fine. i’d NEVER EVER pay $500 to learn spanish, but mandarin chinese, arabic, korean, or thai i might
[..YouTube..] You can use it on an iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch, plus the audio CD’s can be used on an iPod and in the car. The disks can be used on any computer and accessed through the web. Though it may be expensive, it is well worth the value. Thanks to Rosetta Stone, I now am a polyglot. (You probably don’t know that that means someone who speaks 3 or more languages.) I’m beginning to learn Swedish, and even by the online demo, I can speak basic statements about food and people. You didn’t give RS a cha
[..YouTube..] Fuck Rosetta Stone!! If she were a woman she’d be a fat bit.ch!
[..YouTube..] Boss: “[Insert Serious Business Question]“?
RS User: “The apple is green”
No, but Rosetta Stone is pretty effective, you should give it more of a chance.
[..YouTube..] i’m only going to use rosetta stone to help me review and practice my german that i learn in school. would you say thats good? but don’t worry, i didn’t waste my money (torrents are sooooooo helpful)
[..YouTube..] I just started rosetta stone japanese and i think it is great so far.
[..YouTube..] And i got all five levels for only $100 on a discount from the official rosetta stone website about two months ago.
[..YouTube..] Uhh, I’d say I disagree with some of your comments. Firstly regardless of what software you’re using it should never be your only option, it should be used in addition to something such as a class. And your 4th statement is absolutely false. Audio companion lets you download it onto your Mp3. And if you want to be CD free there are many ways of doing so, for example any Mac will allow you to “mount” the .iso format within seconds. Laptop will let you carry it etc…
[..YouTube..] Oh, and price is and should never be an issue. If it’s too expensive look for alternative ways of getting the software. Maybe split the cost with a friend or two (You can download it on different computers), go to Amazon, buy it off someone. There are many ways of getting around the 500$ price tag. Add Totale V4 and you have a tutor helping you through the lesson. It can be used on a smartphone, Ipod, Ipad etc…use the product fully before saying what it can or can’t do. Not just Level 1.
[..YouTube..] Its a rocket Languages Ad Campaign!
[..YouTube..] RS pictures are ambiguous; minimal concept is not used; no way to get the meaning; mistakes in some programs (e.g., Russian) and unnatural language; speakers speak very quickly (Korean) and slow-down distorts; guarantee was not honored: I didn’t get my money back for this expensive program. And, yes, I did stick with it — to the point of knowing all the level 1~5 answers but not what I was saying.
[..YouTube..] if everyone was smart they would of torrentend it than purchase it. thank god for torrenting
[..YouTube..] I feel you are unaware advances Rosetta Stone has done since your reviews. There are many things that you are grazing over in issues. It’s expensive but it works. It did for me. (Italian)
[..YouTube..] rosetta is the best..cuz it is free and usefull…dont listen her !
[..YouTube..] I think Rosetta stone is ok for the absolute beginner who has no need for fluency. If you have ever taken a formal class, even just a basic one, you are probably already far beyond what Rosetta stone “teaches”.
The biggest problem is it tries to teach how infants learn. Like I said, great for the absolute beginner and you will soon develop a knack for basic, trivial sentences and vocabulary, but the whole “learn like we did pre-kindergarten” technique just doesn’t work for more advanced concep
[..YouTube..] why do u have my name…….
[..YouTube..] Useful information, beautiful informer!
[..YouTube..] To be honest your argument is really weak. You sound like threatened competition.
[..YouTube..] Ok so i wonder how long you tried Rosetta Stone for… Did you use it at least 30 minutes every day for about 2-3 years?? Because it works if you do that. If you say it doesn’t work you obviously got lazy, or you weren’t passionate about learning the language.
[..YouTube..] Rosetta Stone fails, because it applies the same system for 30 languages instead of anayzing each and every one and finding out, how it is aproached best from e.g. an english point of view. Also the program treats you as a child, which is likely t annoy any person with average intellect also considering you pay a fortune for that program.
I have concluded from my research (waching example videos, reading reviews etc.) that I will use Fluenz to learn mandarin.
[..YouTube..] @languagewrangler
I extremely effectively used RS (italian, spanish, russian) by using a program called Audio HiJack to get the system sound the application was producing from the Core Exercises of Each Lesson. Name the mp3s (01,02..) in order. They perfectly match with the course contents PDF. I do rosetta stone 90% from my iPhone on the train (with international keyboard for transcribing!). Be Creative!!
[..YouTube..] apparently rosetta stone now has a feature where you can talk to people from the country whose language your trying to learn. IE talking to another person. This makes a lot of your arguement invalid.
[..YouTube..] Smart and pretty(((:
[..YouTube..] I THINK SHE’S RIGHT….F THIS PROGRAM!!
[..YouTube..] Rosetta Stone is not worth your time and money. If you are serious about learning another language, start with FSI language. its free from the US Dept of State. If you want to start speaking another language immediately, try the Michel Thomas method. Try your local library or inter library before you go and buy one.
[..YouTube..] Obviously to start any language you need a strong base and i found that RS helped on that part. She did have a point on the fact that, to learn to speak fluently you need to immerse yourself with people how know that language in particular, and so on…
[..YouTube..] just google “best spanish language software 2011″ and in toptenreviews it’ll give you a proper assessment on the attributes that each software has, plus Rocket Language software (promoted on her site) doesn’t even make it in the rank “FAIL!!” the only mistake is listening to you jajajajaja
[..YouTube..] now i have not used the software… but i feel the use of pictures in Rosetta stone mimics how we lean english or whatever our primary language is as a child…. weren’t we supposed to look at something and say whether a wagon is red or blue.. This helps because the translation and the fact that we already know a language screws us up..
[..YouTube..] of course you are going to say it sucks, you are promoting another langauge program, which I am betting that you in some way get paid for. Sorry but your opinion is biased!!!
[..YouTube..] I personally think fluenz is the best thing out there.
[..YouTube..] lols she is promoting a product thats on her site. she in some way will get paid for promoting that product. she knows rosetta stone is her biggest competition thats why she’s going on rosetta stone for “sucking” when actually she knows its the best language learning service out there.
[..YouTube..] I have a problem with the way that you chose to express your feelings towards Rosetta Stone. My first problem is your lack of knowledge about the product, you brought forth the argument that Rosetta Stone is “outdated technology” and cited that it is merely just a software program and instructional discs. I think you may want to check your facts before you rant about a product, it clearly states that it has access everywhere through Ipads, Iphones and mp3′s throughout the site.
[..YouTube..] Half of your arguement is no longer correct because there are CDs that you put in on your ipod and listen to on the go or in your car. There is a mobile app to where you can get your rosetta stone practice anywhere. There are native speakers that you actually talk to and get help from available. The lessons get better and better as you go. You can also put rosetta stone on more than one computer and you can have more than one learner (account) even on the same computer.
[..YouTube..] Another problem I have is the way you presented Rosetta Stone, you made it seem as if Rosetta Stone is primarily advertising and as a result people get “sucked” in, realistically Rosetta Stone has a big budget because people like the product and have continued to buy it (basics of business and marketing). You failed to mention various learning styles (and I commend the videos that acknowledge this and still dislike it). Perhaps Rosetta Stone is not accommodating towards your leaning style.
[..YouTube..] Master race torrent user here
[..YouTube..] Te entiendo, para aprender ingles me ha costado también, siempre te enseñan cosas que nunca vas a usar, pero debemos tener paciencia… el único método que te simula algo real es una película.
Por cierto, eres muy bonita : )
[..YouTube..] wheres the money shot..
[..YouTube..] I love Rosetta Stone!
[..YouTube..] @StageBanndit but have you use this?
[..YouTube..] I WORK FOR ROSETTASTONE AND I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU…
[..YouTube..] @nomanyaar No you don’t -_- aot of people say that to sound like it doesn’t work, but it does.
[..YouTube..] Um as to the portability problem not to put u down but I believe its called a laptop duh
[..YouTube..] @MyDiceWon Hello Mr. I work for them ask me anything about them, and by the way yes I do agree it works but doesn’t actually teach you to the level where you can hold a conversation with some one.
[..YouTube..] FUCK YOU AND THE HORSE YOU ROAD IN ON!!!!!!!!!!! IT WORKS JUST FINE! i love rosetta stone. its the building blocks im looking for. after i used it i was able to easily roll along with other language learning tools. use it first then move along to conversation with a native speaker. its alot more than better than nothing. of course you dont know the language in full after you use it. you have to keep learning and use what you have learned as a boost in learning the language. watch movies after!!!
[..YouTube..] WOW THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!YOU SAVED ME LIKE $400!!!!!!
[..YouTube..] She’s right and all the studies are wrong? Half the opinions she shares don’t even make good sense. It’s technologically outdated? She isn’t even talking about the current version! it’s online, on iphone and ipad. Disregard her totally. It’s too expensive because she’s too simple to get a job that pays her anything.
[..YouTube..] Horrible review. The software is out of date though.. I’ve come across 4 errors trying to install this thing. Updating, then error, then solving, then installing languages, then error, then solving, the random error then solving. But when it work it really works.
[..YouTube..] This is just a silly add…Rosetta Stone works great
[..YouTube..] You re hot
[..YouTube..] I was wondering becasue i want to do this so bad and i am 13 so i wanted to know your opinion on Rosetta Stone and if i should get it becasue i want to learn Japanese because i love manga and anime and i really want to get it but all these videos about not to get it is really putting me down so help me!
[..YouTube..] @uchihagrand why buy just pirate it and your set you got nothing to loose except time
[..YouTube..] This video is about how she doesnt know what the fuck she talking about.
[..YouTube..] Thought I was the only one that felt this way.. R. Stone really does suck… smh..
[..YouTube..] If you weren’t so damn pretty, I would be a lot angrier.
[..YouTube..] i am on disc 2 spanish and can communicate with spanish speaking peoples its a great ice breaker and its fun. ella tiene un palo en culo
[..YouTube..] ella es bonita pero ella tiene a grande cabeza
[..YouTube..] I think kid’s shows in different languages are better learning tools. Like Sesame Street in Spanish… or El Gato y El Perro. These are great, even for adults. AND they don’t bore the snot out of your children, because that’s who it’s for in the first place.
[..YouTube..] sooo this is what i think the rosetta stone is gunna give me the information i need to speak spanish then i use my high school spanish class to test all i have learned
[..YouTube..] @UchihaGrand just get it kid….. this lady has NO idea what she is talking about….. its a cheap “hater” way to get people to go to her page and subscribe….. The software was obviously too much for her to handle so now she is just hating on it…… i mean she sat there and said you COULD NOT take Rosetta stone with you, it had to stay on 1 PC…… she has bumped her head, you can take it EVERYWHERE and multiple PC’s!
[..YouTube..] @kenny8076 thanks for the lift on my estime to get it!
[..YouTube..] This is funny, a girl who promotes a website and another tools talking about another tool, one tool she didn’t use so much, very interesting. You can’t expect to be fluent using a level 1 of a language software. What do you want to learn at the beginning? how to say complicated sentences? it’s stupid.
[..YouTube..] Thanks for the information. It sounds like they are a big marketing ploy. I will be sure not to buy the product.
[..YouTube..] It wouldn’t hurt to replace “Doesn’t work” by “Doesn’t work for me” and a few claims by facts. If you only get as far as the first lessons it’s not surprising that you don’t learn more than a few colors, etc.
And I haven’t seen an ad for Rosetta Stone in my whole life.
[..YouTube..] you’re hot
[..YouTube..] @CowboyJakel I know she is hot
[..YouTube..] I learned a highschool course of German in about a week (I tested out during the summer). Now granted, I pulled three all-nighters before the test… but whatever. If Rosetta stone teaches that all languages are the same, then they’re clearly mistaken. I’ve learned both beginner courses in highschool, and I can tell you that languages like German and Russian requires more focus on the 4 noun cases, whereas Spanish not so much. Not sure whether to ask for rosetta stone or not :/
[..YouTube..] beginner courses for Spanish and German*
[..YouTube..] Rosetta stone is great software! I like!
[..YouTube..] The problem i have with this is that in Spanish there are 5 levels right? So level 1. Is what your saying. Level 5 much different. Have you done all 5 levels of Spanish ? I can finally speak Spanish very fluently. And there are ways of getting every single language free you know.
[..YouTube..] @knizz2 …….where do you live… i’ve seen them everywhere. and even heard them on the radio.. :/
[..YouTube..] its sad bcuz as i watched the video while glancing at my rosetta stone
just winking me in the face
[..YouTube..] As a user, there’s too many points to write out about how wrong she is, it really depends on the person and their way of learning a language. I personally find that RS is a very effective way of learning & MEMORISING vocab, instead of glaring at translations from English on a piece of paper (not to mention boring.)
Also, I like how she advertises a different software by bashing on rosetta stone. -_-
[..YouTube..] If you want to learn Spanish

[..YouTube..] I am current;y in the process of teaching myself American Sign Language, and Russian. I have friends and church members fluent in ASL, so I’ve got that covered. I am starting to learn Russian by first starting with the alphabet. Do you have any other suggestions for softwares other than Rosetta Stone?
[..YouTube..] thank you, that really helped me. i really thought about buying it, but i could not imagine to learn grammatical patterns just by looking at some pictures. i have been learning japanese for a while now but with other programmes and books and it has a completely different system than german has and the programme really taught me these patterns. thank you ! (:
[..YouTube..] ROSETTA STONE IS THE DEVIL.
Ok just kidding but to put it blunt it sucks and is an egregious waste of money and time. Unfortunately because it has such a huge advertising budget (and even has booths in Airports do you know how expensive that is?!) it gets a lot of coverage and grabs a lot of non-serious learners, many a times those serious learners think they’ve learned the language when in reality they’ve learned random words and some tourist phrases (albeit with excellent pronunciation).
[..YouTube..] I disagree with you, RS is effective specially if this is the first time you are learning a new language. If you study with RS everyday you will learn the language. I speak English, Spanish & currently learning French. I have spoken to French speakers and they have told me that my French is very good. Besides RS I listen to French radio, I watch French films, I write, read & search for new French vocabulary words. I suggest to try Rocket Language once you complete RS its more conversational. Bo
[..YouTube..] Personally, there is no way I would spend $500 to learn a language.
[..YouTube..] @BIGTsa11 How long did YOU use it? Even if you completed all 5, I assure you your vocabulary will be painfully limited. Look at the numbers.
And if you were really passionate about learning the language, you’d move to a country where it is spoken. The methodology behind Rosetta Stone is shallow and lacking.
[..YouTube..] @BIGTsa11 I am guessing that means YOU have used it for at least 30 minutes a day for 2-3 years (so how did it work for you?). Rosetta stone is a horrible program, imo, and I am a very passionate and dedicated learner (of Chinese, Spanish, now Russian and soon to be Arabic). I am willing to bet Rosetta Stone doesn’t even address the most IMPORTANT aspect of learning a language, which is the culture! In my experience, Rosetta Stone is the LEAST effective method of learning a language in terms
[..YouTube..] @BIGTsa11 of time and money spent. You are better off using that money to study abroad for the summer… The spanish version was laughable, the mandarin version I saw online looked pretty bad…and most of the people who have used it to learn Chinese have horrific accents that will NOT be understood by any native speaker of Chinese.
[..YouTube..] If you are willing to spend 500 dollars on Rosetta Stone, do yourself a favor and invest it into a language CLASS, a TUTOR, or a study abroad program INSTEAD–where it is much more hands on! Not only will it be much worth your while in terms of money spent, but you will actually get a grasp of the language and be able to have a conversation with someone.
[..YouTube..] omg are you married..im in love
[..YouTube..]
I’m learning english with rosetta, and I can to see the difference.
[..YouTube..] She’s a bitch.- Ella es una perra.
I love Rosetta Stone–^
[..YouTube..] I have Rosetta Stone Totale Russian (all 3 levels). I love it because it is interactive, has free online tutoring service for 9 months, online games, audio CDs to accompany my lessons when I am on my computer, stickers for my keyboard so I can type in cryllic, and a headphone unit. I bought it because my last girlfriend, who was from Ukraine, learned American English from Rosetta Stone. My only problem is customer service and the price (but with all it comes with, no wonder why).
[..YouTube..] Why would I want to learn the language of some 3rd world shit hole?
Your hot by the way.
[..YouTube..] Hahaha. If Rosetta Stone sucks, why am I getting addicted to it? LOL. I’m on my level 5 of Rosetta Stone French, and I’ll tell you what, ROSETTA STONE IS THE BEST!!! I don’t need to translate every single word because I’m already thinking in French. If your are lazy, you don’t get anything.
[..YouTube..] @hkmp5s Yes, you should work on your English first. Keep it up, ‘you’re’ getting there.
[..YouTube..] look at english, do you teach your children to speak at a master level or do you have so slowly work them up to that level? you cant just buy a program that will make you speak the language like you have lived there there entire life
[..YouTube..] @pobhockle What can I say, your mom is a good teacher. Some times it’s hard to understand her with her mouth full but she loves the protein.
[..YouTube..] @hkmp5s Ahh, good old mom jokes. Where would we be without them – and our mothers? I know how you turned out without yours. It’s pretty sad, isn’t it, watching similar, sad, middle-aged men ride their bikes round an empty carpark. Ever thought about taking up another language and getting into some real adventures? Maybe you could go to Bangkok and get a hot ladyboy to make engine noises while he does you up the tailpipe.
[..YouTube..] To me and everyone in my class this was more of a software to teach you how to understand basics, not speack it. And I am almost fluent after old fashioned Spanish class. I agree, there are better ways
[..YouTube..] i would love to wake up next to her every morning she is as beautiful as the sun rise.
[..YouTube..] WHY WON”T U RESPOND TO US COWARD! WHY CAN’t U EXPLAIN URSELF
[..YouTube..] @DeLeonDeewreck lol
[..YouTube..] @IMonsterl Well all joking aside It can make you fluent. People have told me that it was extremely useful but it does have some flaws. I just have to ask how long did u use this?
[..YouTube..] woman your PATHETIC!! if rosetta stone fails why is there so many people having success adapting a foreign language, rosetta stone is the building blocks of a language, it will not master you but will get your journey started you spoiled white brat. lazy blonde do some work rather than waste your time here discouraging other people. LOSER! get laid ! loser!
[..YouTube..] @IMonsterl i’ve never used it before…i was actually watching a video game walthrough and eventually ended up here…YouTube eh? lol
[..YouTube..] Just watch them until the video because she is very pretty.
[..YouTube..] its called get a laptop if u want to bring it with u lol, and its now on the ipad.
[..YouTube..] Why didn´t she downloaded it from Pirate Bay?
[..YouTube..] Love the Rosetta Stone ads by and on this video. trololol.
[..YouTube..] @armanimpressions
Yes, agreed
Rosetta Stone and Pimsleur are a great start to help you get to know the language.
but not enough 2 call yourself 1% fluent
[..YouTube..] @DeLeonDeewreck
No, Rosetta Stone cannot make you fluent. It can help you with the first baby steps
but don’t take my word for it. Look @ their FAQs on their website
[..YouTube..] or you could take a high school class haaa
[..YouTube..] @DeLeonDeewreck
just google
“why rosetta stone sucks”
“Which is the best learning program”
I have seen nothing but bad reviews for it except on amazon.com
Since you have already bought it, try it out. Complete it and then try the 1st 10 lessons of our program (free on our channel). When you realize how difficult our “basic” program is, you’ll also realize how much time was wasted on rosetta stone.
But as i mentioned b4, RS is good for your first few baby steps
cheers
[..YouTube..] @DeLeonDeewreck
I apologize, we currently only have Spanish on our channel.
Stay tuned for:
German
French
Italian
Portuguese
Farsi
MSA
[..YouTube..] grrrrrrrr…..
[..YouTube..] to expensive to learn a whole new language?
[..YouTube..] try getting a lap top
[..YouTube..] lol 69 likes 96 dislikes lol
[..YouTube..] @BIGTsa11 well.. i’ve had only 4 lessons in in russian , i’ve learnt how to spot adjectives, verbs (and relexive) , can count to 100 , nouns ,how to change them acording to gender, i did that by the thrid lesson of having my tutor once a week…believe you me it did not cost me three hundred and something pounds. easch of my lessons cost 15 quid . i did rosetta stone for two months and i learnt hardly anything apart from a few nouns 0 grammar .
[..YouTube..] Rosetta Stone is great, it teaches you the basics of a language before hand so that if you ever go to Japan, you won’t be 100% clueless on what’s being said to what to say.
Once you’ve grasped the basics of a language, if you live in their land you can become fluent a lot faster.
[..YouTube..] The other day I went to barnes and noble and saw that rosetta stone level 1 was 400 dollars and why buy it for that much money I can jus go to Columbia or honduras
[..YouTube..] @cool08player There is no such thing as ‘the best’ language learning software. That is pure opinion, and people learn things in different ways. From what I’ve heard, if you want to SPEAK Spanish fluently, (body language and emotions must be expressed to enjoy a conversation) .. then move to Mexico. Simple as that. You need to be constantly immersed.
[..YouTube..] Ironically, as you’re blasting Rosetta Stone, the Google Ad overlay is for Rosetta Stone (at least, when I was viewing it). Cool earrings btw.
[..YouTube..] i really hate how rosetta stone doesn’t teach you the rules cleary, but very subtle.
[..YouTube..] I don’t get the haters. Your review is great and I totally agree. I think Rosetta Stone is “ok” to get you rolling, but the rigid structure of the system is freaking annoying.
[..YouTube..] @ittehgapsytterb
[..YouTube..] srsly? does it matter?
[..YouTube..] Rosetta Stone works wonders for me. I could speak French half fluently in only a month. And I actually DID think in French (I just had to train myself to), I even had a dream in French, lol.
But I guess it just isn’t for everyone. So whatever works for you, go for it.
[..YouTube..] I LOVE rosetta stone! I used it for only 3 months and learned a lot!!!
[..YouTube..] @cool08player
As someone not trying to promote Rocket Spanish, hell no is it the best language learning service.
[..YouTube..] you look almost like a child with your biased opinions.. lol
[..YouTube..] you look almost like a child with your biased opinions.. lol
[..YouTube..] to sum it up: rosetta stone is the devil!
[..YouTube..] Don’t reply care about speaking the language fluently….just won’t to know what there saying.
[..YouTube..] It worked for me. And I have a serious learning disablity, and I suck at learning a new langauge. I am going to do video regarding the Rosetta Stone. Also I have a serious ADD. Pictures and Immersion work for me.
[..YouTube..] Do you have a language teaching software company???
[..YouTube..] Rosetta Stone does suk. I stick to the books. Or I can ask my dad some words. He can help me with sentences.
[..YouTube..] @StefanoDurden If you use Rosetta Stone, you’re a traitor to your country. Go to Language Wrangler so we can sell you our Own Rocket Language Software. It’s better….and you can prove that you don’t hate America.
[..YouTube..] @MrTempUzer i just got the software recently… i also have very serious add that i am medicated for an what not… pretty much have always barely passed any class ever but typically most people think that im like way above average intelligence despite them not knowing of the learning disability. people with add usually are above average intelligence they just have a serious learning disability and have to learn in a special way. some people wont relate to that tho thus bad reviews.
[..YouTube..] StoryTimeLanguage
[..YouTube..] The thing about learning another language writing style is that you actually have to be good at grammar. If you could learn to speak it before learning grammar bs, now THAT would be something. Cause I tried learning Spanish in high school, and it was painful and near impossible. I learn Spanish much easier when hanging out with my Mexican friends.
[..YouTube..] @Glory2theLamb11 And I actually thought in Spanish when learning from Spanish speaking friends. That is not what I learned in high school.
[..YouTube..] @aabceacba but it’s so expensive if you find out it’s not for you you’re already hundreds of dollars in the hole lol
[..YouTube..] @froggymicwop True, I can’t argue with you there, lol.
[..YouTube..] Another cool language teacher is pimsleur i’m downloading it right now.
[..YouTube..] ” The apple is green”, lol
[..YouTube..] I beg to differ. Im 11 and my dads from irelandand he wanted me to learn irish i got rosetta stone and after about few days i picked up and irish baby book and understood every word in it.
[..YouTube..] It is awesome for learning the words, that gives enough to be able to watch shows or read in thous languages which builds on how the words fit together… and as far as price goes… (not sayin i do or dont do this) … but theres a thing called torrents and cracks, which take the cost out of the equation…
[..YouTube..] I like your views and I think you’re really cute
[..YouTube..] are you an actress ?
[..YouTube..] @berrygirl0405 is irish a language?
[..YouTube..] @ThegodisAbraxas um,yes!
[..YouTube..] @berrygirl0405 you mean gaelic then? or do people from ireland actually call it irish?
[..YouTube..] @ThegodisAbraxas Well,in ireland you would refer that the launguage is irish. Its more modern i guess
[..YouTube..] So aside from moving to a spanish speaking country and learning spanish there what do you recommend, in Rosetta Stones stead.
[..YouTube..] >Implying something’s outdated because it’s on a disc.
>Dumb bitch from the future.
[..YouTube..] 500 $ to learn German…
10K more money made per year…
O, and it is called a laptop
[..YouTube..] They made it so you can take it places, also you talk to people in japan. teachers and japanese people learning english.
((This is for the japanese, but they have it for the other languages also.)) I like it. But so far it is a bit basic. Still ok. :]
[..YouTube..] To be fair to the her, she isn’t the first language enthusiast I’ve seen slam RS. The fact that so many people who actually know something about successfully learning languages, keep mentioning how awful RS is, says everything. And yeah – I did try the RS demo and while it appears that you’re learning a language fast, I can totally see finishing the program and discovering you really haven’t learned anything at all other than how to match pictures to one or two words of another language.
[..YouTube..] @SnotRockets55 But, how many of those people complete all of the levels?
[..YouTube..] That’s the problem with this country. You can’t expect to become proficient at anything in five minutes. Think about how slowly you learned your native language. Now apply that to learning your new language but maybe twice as long. That’s what you should expect.
[..YouTube..] Don’t breed.
[..YouTube..] ITS FUCKING BORING AND IT SUCKS GOSH!!!!!!!!!! JUST TAKE A CLASS!!!!!
[..YouTube..] Also your hot !!!
[..YouTube..] @ThegodisAbraxas yes, Iris is a language, it’s actually Irish Gaelic.
[..YouTube..] @frankisfunny2007 oops, my bad, Irish
[..YouTube..] @frankisfunny2007 k
[..YouTube..] I went to your website and I don’t see you speaking, writing Spanish at all. Do you hate RS because you failed at it. I have some Spanish speaking friends that have learned some English skills with RS and yes it’s not perfect but really, trash a product because they advertise. That says a lot about you as a person.
[..YouTube..] Not every way of learning work for everyone you know.
Im french and i’ve learned english and there no way to learn a language else then…with the time really i think these stupid people like you that buy rosetta stone expecting instant result are kind of stupid because its not like that it work… fuck i hate our society that i call instant soup society where we are just part of that big machine that is the system that ask you to be quicker quicker and perfect like robot…everyone is like you.
[..YouTube..] Hey let me just sell language wrangler by bashing on rosseta stone !:)
[..YouTube..] Stop trying to use big words and go back to the kitchen.
[..YouTube..] @AutomatonGames hahahAAA agree 100%. women reaLLy onLy need to know 2 Languages.
cooking & cLeaning
[..YouTube..] @ittehgapsytterb Google’s advertisement works based on the things that you’ve used Google for, not just what is popular.
[..YouTube..] wow your name is asia? that makes me want to PLOW you.
[..YouTube..] If you dont get back in the kitchen ill force you to use rosetta stone
[..YouTube..] Let me see if I understand this fully. You hate Rosetta stone but you have a Rosetta stone commercial in your video?
[..YouTube..] The lady is quite sexy and extremely feminine.
[..YouTube..] @omniphichipsi314159 XD LOL NICE
[..YouTube..] Hi I think you are sexy and i love the way you talk , are you single?
[..YouTube..] Bitch. Go cat talk with your friends.
[..YouTube..] its funny cuz rosetta stone sucks but what she is talking about is the beginner disc lol stop acting like you be all smart and finish 5 disc’s and then complain
[..YouTube..] So in addition to using textbook, tutors, etc. what is the best program to use?
[..YouTube..] i think you are full of shit! have you really even tried all the levels! I have done the Rosetta stone Spanish and its amazing
[..YouTube..] Damn, you’re fine. Thanks for the heads up; I was considering purchasing Rosetta Stone but now I’ll shop around more.
[..YouTube..] @joshanator1 She doesn’t control what ads pop up on her video. That’s YouTube.
[..YouTube..] where can I get the program you think is that best ? besides RSTONE
[..YouTube..] what the hell is Rosetta Stone?
[..YouTube..] I really like rosetta stone. I think its the best way to fluency since it teaches how to build/make sentences and perfect your grammar. Tip. Just use a torrent
Free
[..YouTube..] There are a lot of things wrong with this video. She is saying the software is bad for any language although from first glance, the website seems to primarily or only focuses on Spanish learning. Who is she? What are her credentials? Ever met a girl named “Asia” that wasn’t a stripper, or Caucasian no less? Sounds fishy. The video is strictly an opinion without much info backing up the claims. Do yourself a favor and order a free demo from the RS site and just see if it’s for you or not.
[..YouTube..] Personally I think you’re an idiot, “The apple is green” and the “the shirt is blue” are phrases from the colours and objects section not the Conversation lession
Stupid excuses
[..YouTube..] To be honest, I wasn’t really able to pay attention to anything this woman says. She is super hot, and that distracted me.
[..YouTube..] You can buy a set (book with 2 cd’s) from Teach Yourself, for example Teach Yourself Complete Spanish, and you don’t need to spend much more than twenty bucks. It will teach you more than Rosetta Stone. Rosetta Stone has a lot of money to advertise. Joseph Goebbels would have loved to have their advertising budget. When a lie is repeated often enough, people will start to believe it.
[..YouTube..] im still getting it stupid bitch suck on that
[..YouTube..] The best way to learn another language is to do a language immersion program in the country of what language you want to speak. Plain and simple. Sure it’s expensive, but, I mean, shit why are you going to learn another language if you’re not going to use it?
[..YouTube..] @trooubermensch i dont need to, im learning chinese and i go to a school with 33 chinese kids in it
[..YouTube..] Thank you for posting this! im using this for my powerpoint for my classs! thankkks again.
[..YouTube..] i TOTALLY agree with you!!! I wanted to pick up Russian as my fourth language and so I made the mistake of picking up Rosetta Stone, since I hear it’s what the State Department uses. Big mistake, I returned it right away. I did two lessons and found I wasn’t learning ANYTHING. You can’t just repeat phrases and expect to learn the structure and grammatical rules of a language. For example. My advice to you would be to pick up a textbook that comes with a workbook and a software CD.
[..YouTube..] For Russian, I recommend golosa Book 1. It comes with online videos to help you with pronunciation and a workbookf or you to practice in. Rosetta Stone is an absolute joke and wil do nothing but give you the biggest headache of your life!
[..YouTube..] “you can’t take it to the library”
why would you go to practise another language at a library?!
[..YouTube..] I call… bullshit
[..YouTube..] Boo! Poor points.
[..YouTube..] you are good
[..YouTube..] I think it’s funny how you’re blasting Rosetta Stone yet you can’t even speak English very well. Next time try reading from a script.
[..YouTube..] @TheEmpowered787 lol, you took two whole lessons and then quit.
[..YouTube..] actually I have rosetta stone, and its working brilliantly… BTW you can take it in the care and what not, its called MP3′s?… TotalE has this feature, so what you stated was total BS… Thankyou!
[..YouTube..] When I buy something like Rosetta Stone, im not expecting to master the language and become fluent solely on using Rosetta Stone, or any language learning software for that matter. If i can get a good base vocabulary and and learn how to form sentences correctly, that is good enough for me. I dont care how many hours I spend on ANY software, i wouldnt feel confident until i actually spent hours and hours speaking it with other people.
[..YouTube..] @anastasiabrady
really? then how is it that they picked the exact ad to put there? I thought people uploading videos were making money on them.
[..YouTube..] Rosetta Stone is cool when you get it for free.
[..YouTube..] …
[..YouTube..] @joshanator1 I THINK that’s only if posters become YouTube “partners”, which happens after tens of thousands of views and more than a few posts by the poster. But I could be wrong. I do know that technology is advanced enough to allow an ad to post when a poster has a subject matter that relates to the ad. So if she SAID her post was about Rosetta Stone, it’s not a stretch to think YouTube would have attached an ad ABOUT Rosetta Stone…. Or a competitor. Again, I could be wrong. Cheers.
[..YouTube..] That’s a weird looking kitchen.
[..YouTube..] i learned to speak english with rosetta stone, the one summer i used it made one year of taking classes look like bs.
[..YouTube..] Dang, 154 people must work for Rosetta Stone….or are people who just like getting ripped off by expensive software.
[..YouTube..] what do you suggest for learning a language the easiest
[..YouTube..] i think we should learn every language starting from the curse words cuz i found out i bought lots of language books and i read the chapter one then i fall asleep. but speaking of curse words…. that psyches everyone up! it’s the most direct and the most common way to speak at daily basis, so i’m now learning german swear words in order to catch up with my german postdoc group.
[..YouTube..] @123jumoliyo
Fair enough
[..YouTube..] HMMM. Im glad I saved my money & didnt buy that crap…
but then again the military gets rosetta stone for free, so i guess i gotta search for some soilders. lol. joking.
[..YouTube..] Hhahahahaha this is an AD campaign for Rocket Languages. Just look at her website!!!
This girls is fake. I use rocket languages but i wouldnt say dont use rosetta stone. I think they both supplement each other well. Rocket languages has good culture lessons and nice little story dialogues. Rosetta Stone is cool because it teaches the way we learn when we are young. Fake girl is fake….
[..YouTube..] This woman comes across like a bimbo. The smartest thing to come out of her mouth was the last dick that she sucked.
[..YouTube..] L2Torrent, rofl
[..YouTube..] You’re actually right. i understand what ur trying to say. NOW GET BACK IN THE KITCHEN!!!!
[..YouTube..] Why did you buy it ooooooooooooooooo
[..YouTube..] In some points you have right but RS is an efficient method to learn a language because your ear start to recognize the language and everything become more easy..
[..YouTube..] ur hot lol
[..YouTube..] @Applecrazy12347 17 people can’t get a date.
[..YouTube..] women should learn ONE language! That is the language of cooking. Now get back to the kitchen and make me something!
[..YouTube..] “Some languages need to focus on verb conjugations”… Spanish. They aren’t that hard to learn and really don’t need to be focused on that much. Grammer is much more important.
“Some languages need to focus on noun cases”… German. The nouns are capitalized. Simple.
[..YouTube..] Agreed. Fluenz is much, much, much better than Rosetta Stone.
[..YouTube..] @niffer452 No, not cases like upper case/lowercase. Cases like in nominative, genitive, dative, or accusative, and declining your articles, adjectives, and pronouns correctly.
[..YouTube..] @dduble07 Polyglots can read cookbooks in more languages
[..YouTube..] I already had Rosetta Stone, and tried it. I think it’s great… Not to become completely fluent, but rather to learn a basis.
[..YouTube..] totally agree with you! “tell me more” is way better. it does a much better job incorporating reading and writing.
[..YouTube..] Um…..How many times can you say “um” in french?
[..YouTube..] I want to learn italian so I can say lines from the godfather part I.
[..YouTube..] But TellMeMore and Fluenz doesn’t have a Portuguese language pack :-/
[..YouTube..] id fuck her
[..YouTube..] Spanish lessons through SKYPE ($20/hr) Guaranteed to learn. E-mail languageexcel@aol.com for some lessons one on one.
[..YouTube..] your really hot
[..YouTube..] Ummmmm zip it bitch
[..YouTube..] Great Review! Thank you
[..YouTube..] Is bad may be to English speakers but work reverse very well… Learning English is good… you want to put more time in you studies… is not like you US school….
[..YouTube..] Great review dear, thank you very much.
[..YouTube..] I took 3 years of Spanish in high school was told that I have a natural knack for learning languages. I recently decided to try Rosetta Stone to learn Japanese mainly because I’m tired of reading subtitles on the anime I watch. I will say that so far (I’ve spent 2.4 hours and am on Unit 1 Lesson 2) Rosetta Stone is ok. I know most people say that the way the teach in high school doesn’t really work, but during my 3rd year of Spanish, I could read in Spanish and understand in Spanish, (cont..)
[..YouTube..] (…cont) not read in Spanish and translate in my head into English and understand in English. I also had dreams in Spanish, which I’m told is one of the true ways to know you are thinking in another language. So far, I’m not sure how Rosetta Stone will stack up, but considering I don’t have any time to take an actual class with a grade (which would be the best way to learn for me personally) I think it will be the next best thing. In addition, since my main goal is fluency in listening (cont..)
[..YouTube..] (…cont) and you don’t have to understand every single word to do that, I think that Rosetta Stone will accomplish this. As for being able to hold a conversation with any sort of fluency…I would say only time will tell. Anyways, those are my thoughts…Oh, btw just so everyone knows, I’m using version 3. I don’t have a smart phone to take it anywhere anyways. Plus, in spare moments I talk to/text friends since the rest of my time is currently spent study Modern Algebra I for my math major.
[..YouTube..] @hajimketty I would say that for you, the reverse may not be working so well in regards to the grammar. I think you might have wanted to say, “["This" or "Rosetta Stone"] is bad maybe to English speakers, but works in reverse very well” as for the rest of it after “Learning English is good” I’m not totally sure what you’re trying to say. A Tip: One way to tell if you need “may be” OR “maybe” is to ask what could replace it? “might be” can replace “may be”, and “possibly” can replace “maybe”.
[..YouTube..] bla bla bla rosetta stone is my competitor bla bla…. be useful and go make me a sandwich
[..YouTube..] sounds like you work for some other language learning company and youre just being a bitch and wanna ruin rosetta stones business
[..YouTube..] Funny, the Japanese Rosetta Stone product I was just looking at does not even come on CD. It is online + iPhone/iPad only and $20 per month. You also get to interact with the online community (eg: actual conversations with people) and you get 2 sessions with a live coach in a group setting (also conversations with other people).
Your review is outdated.
[..YouTube..] MILF
[..YouTube..] /watch?v=c2J91TPHnKk Rosetta stone free, no torrent. installed easy and instructions included
[..YouTube..] Well, I was surfing Chinese lesson vid clips and reached here…
I was about to buy Chinese and Spanish Rosetta Stone Software.
I will not buy it. Thanks.
[..YouTube..] @uhelp06 SEX
[..YouTube..] What are you talking about? You don’t appear to grasp even a basic understanding of how Rosetta Stone works. It doesn’t spend different amounts of time on verb conjugations because it is designed to teach you using the immersion method (similar the way you learned your first language). Surely you can’t argue that this is a bad method since EVERYONE has already learned at least one language this way.
[..YouTube..] What’s all this crap about it not being able to listen on your ipod or in the car? It comes with an audio companion for that exact purpose. What are you talking about? Just because you’re hot doesn’t mean you can make up bullshit.
[..YouTube..] Bullshit…I wasted my time listening to you ramble on and on about Rosetta Stone, just to hear a suggestion about something called language “wrangler?”
[..YouTube..] wtaf are you on about? you talk so much shyte! my friend learnt spanish throught rosetta stone and he now speaks perfect spanish, fluently.. you could mistake him for a spanish guy! O_O +my auntie has learnt fluent german through this too.
so bitch please. stfu +give your opinion when someone asks.moron. and you can put it on your ipod +in your car cos thats what my friend did so SHUTUPYOUTWAT
[..YouTube..] That’s not true about not being able to listen to Rosetta Stone in the car or on the iphone or ipad…..it doesn’t matter how “outdated” the learning techniques are, if it isn’t broke then why fix it? If Rosetta’s way of assisting people to learn a different language has been working for all these years, then why change now?
[..YouTube..] That’s not true about not being able to listen to Rosetta Stone in the car or on the iphone or ipad…..it doesn’t matter how “outdated” the learning techniques are, if it isn’t broke then why fix it? If Rosetta’s way of assisting people to learn a different language has been working for all these years, then why change now?
[..YouTube..] true
[..YouTube..] you’re fucking hot! i’d bang you and speak any lanugage
[..YouTube..] this makes me want rosetta stone even more
[..YouTube..] this makes me want rosetta stone even more
[..YouTube..] Pimsleur=Yes Rosetta Stone=WTF!!!!!!!!!!
[..YouTube..] There’s a rosetta stone ad on the side of this video. Seriously. Irony!
[..YouTube..] you look very nice *__*
[..YouTube..] The phrases like “the apple is green” is not useful by itself, but it’s teaching you basic sentence structure along with adj, nouns, articles, and verbs at the same time. You won’t be able to learn these things starting out with a giant complicated conversation. I think you’re being too hard on Rosetta Stone.
[..YouTube..] @zeronerz LMFAOO HELL YEAH!!
[..YouTube..] @zeronerz LMFAOO HELL YEAH!!
[..YouTube..] I didnt use RS to learn English, I do speak it fluently (sometimes with an accent) I am a native spanish speaker from costa rica. I started learning english when I was about 15 (im 23), I taught myself by playing video games/reading books/watching tv in english/listening to music and translating the lyrics, etc.
I do believe the way RS teaches is good, given the fact that is uses similar concepts to the way I learned english growing up. Im using RS to give Italian a try and I like it so far
[..YouTube..] shes fucking hottt!!!!!
[..YouTube..] @pb23me –
[..YouTube..] thanks I was close to buying rosette stone to learn french, but now I think I’ll shop around. and you are pretty hot.
[..YouTube..] thanks I was close to buying rosette stone to learn french, but now I think I’ll shop around. and you are pretty hot.
[..YouTube..] Oh dammit! I spent 200+ dollars on Rosetta Stone for german. After spending about 4 hours with it, I thought I knew what I was doing, but once I actually started learning german at school, I saw that what I thought I was learning was completely wrong. I hate demoting products, but please, don’t make the same mistake I did.
[..YouTube..] I totally agree with what you are saying.
[..YouTube..] She’s just jealous
[..YouTube..] Well done. You make loads of sense, with good things to say and you are very insightful. You’re not some retarded person who just hates without offering any logical explanation. You changed my opinion anyway.
[..YouTube..] @MrYionee Thats the same problem with Mandarin xD rosetta teaches you something then other methods such as school, teaches you another WHOLE thing you never would knew with Stone xD
[..YouTube..] I’m a language teacher, she’s pretty accurate in why rossetta stone does not work. All language learning should be communicative and applicable to REAL situations and like she says should teach you to express a feeling and thought.
[..YouTube..] take ur shirt off
[..YouTube..] @IamGilgamesh666 She is offering illogical reasoning. The sentences the software is teaching you are in themselves not terribly useful. The underlying sentence structure and step by step vocabulary being built, however, IS. You can’t go through the first 2 or 3 lessons in level 1 and expect to walk away with a lot of useful phrases. IN FACT, learning phrases is the worst way to learn a language, because it takes a long time before you can isolate what each part means. Thumbs down for a bad ad.
[..YouTube..] And another thing, check out how this hypocritical bitch barfs a bunch of inaccurate badmouthing about Rosetta Stone as part of “…just my personal opinion, but….”, when in fact, this is nothing more than an advertisement. you fail.
[..YouTube..] @ctsincebay
That is like the first reason she gives. She is saying that that method is not useful, not the phrases themselves, by the way. The part about all languages being taught the same is a good point, the thinking in the other language is relevant and the pricing/software quality is also significant factor as to whether or not Rosetta Stone is good. I don’t mean to be cheeky, but did you watch the rest of the video? She makes sense!
[..YouTube..] @IamGilgamesh666 Let me tell you something; this girl knows little to nothing about the Rosetta Stone, nor does she know anything about language study in general. She is simply making up a bunch of bullshit in order to promote her web site. Let me tell you something, until you are completely immersed in a culture and using the second language nearly day, you will NOT be able to think in another language. This biased bitch is nothing but a bigot. I hate people like her.
[..YouTube..] well for some rosetta stone might not help but i have the online version while yes i have to be online to uses it that’s the only draw back its cheaper its fast and helps reinforce vocab, reading, writing and sentence structure plus has a whole section that you can use a mic to practice pronunciation and has online chat option also can do vocab and reading on ipods. just wanted to say that but still not for everyone but look into it before you completly knock it.
[..YouTube..] i totallyolyagree, rest in peace
[..YouTube..] falas-te tanto que ninguem entendeu…
[..YouTube..] /watch?v=c2J91TPHnKk FREE Rosetta stone + 2 Languages!
[..YouTube..] @ctsincebay
But, see, she says why she thinks that is bad and gives reasons why as well as logical alternatives. She gives a point, and backs it up with an example. All you are doing is saying things, without giving logical examples. The fact that you “hate people like her” demonstrates your bias. Also, it’s clear that she does have experience with Rosetta Stone, so I think that what she says is smart and fair. Also, she is in no way a bigot, (at least nothing in this video even hints at it).
[..YouTube..] Im pretty sure i had sex with this chic. No lie
[..YouTube..] I agree. Rosetta Stone French was a huge waste of money for me. They all are dumb. Bonjour 50 fucking times per lesson.
[..YouTube..] @ctsincebay ctsincebay is a fucking retard narrow minded sack of shit. Face it, she provided a logical list of problems with it, and better ideas. Why would you object to that, you dumb ass?
[..YouTube..] @Floodlezoot She doesn’t give a single valid reason why Rosetta Stone is “a bad decision”. 1. She states that it’s an “old learning method”. This is how EVERYBODY learns to speak from the day we’re born — through comprehension through association. 2. She asserts that learning different languages with this method is poor. How many languages does she speak? 1.5? Again, see number 1, EVERYBODY learns to speak this way.
[..YouTube..] @Floodlezoot 3. “It doesn’t help you to think in the new language” This is truly comical. Thinking in a new language only comes once you have at LEAST an intermediate level mastery of the language. One cannot be TAUGHT how to think in a different language. This comes natural once you have an inherent understanding of enough vocabulary. SORRY, but did you even GO to her site? Okay, she suggests watching television shows in your desired language, but really, isn’t this the SAME EXACT learning
[..YouTube..] @Floodlezoot method as word association [such as that used in Rosetta Stone]? You are viewing images and listening to dialogue about what is happening. Frankly, the Rosetta Stone actually deserves the edge here because you are certain that the phrases being said are directly associated to the image you’re viewing. Watching a television show in another language has plenty of dialogue about things that are not presently in the image, leading to a much slower learning rate.
[..YouTube..] @Floodlezoot Yeah, I suppose you thought that after going halfway through the first lesson, you should be fluent in the language. Is that right? Judging by your profile comments you’re nothing but a loser troll that barfs up any disagreeable bullshit you can come up with. You’re not qualified to comment on the Rosetta Stone you lazy quitter. As if you could learn a new language in a week. Yeah, follow this bitches bad advise. Go watch some films in French and see how far you get.
[..YouTube..] @ctsincebay It’s true about me being a loser troll, and a quitter. But regardless, Rosetta Stone is way too expensive for such a bad resource, and this girl is entitled to her opinion. Why would you get so mad about an opinion that made perfect sense to me? Man, that’s fucked up.
[..YouTube..] @Floodlezoot This dude told me he once had sexual intercorse with his sister, he wasn’t joking, he’s a little asian that fights with people on here because he’s a fuck tard with no friends and is to much of a ugly loser to put up a profile pic, he’s a geek and is ignorant, i guess when you get picked on in school and are that ugly that you have to have sexual relations with your sister, then you must be a bit of a loser, check his profile, no one understands what this retard goes on with.
[..YouTube..] @ctsincebay This dude told me he once had sexual intercorse with his sister, he wasn’t joking, he’s a little asian that fights with people on here because he’s a fuck tard with no friends and is to much of a ugly loser to put up a profile pic, he’s a geek and is ignorant, i guess when you get picked on in school and are that ugly that you have to have sexual relations with your sister, then you must be a bit of a loser, check his profile, no one understands what this retard goes on with.
[..YouTube..] k. . .i used rosetta stone, finished 3 lvls in spanish, and am conversational enuff to have decent conversations with the spanish-speaking janitors at my job. So. . . not sure what you’re talking about but ok. And any spanish person I talk to, b/c my pronunciation is so good, they automatically think I am fluent in spanish. Pretty neat if you ask me. Furthermore, I’ve had numerous native spanish speakers tell me my spanish is VERY good. Thanks Rosetta Stone!
[..YouTube..] @Floodlezoot She’s posted a bullshit advertisement in the guise of an opinion. By default, her allowance of comments indicates she is accepting criticism regarding the post. She’s making up a bunch of bullshit to promote her own pitiful web site. Regarding “you can’t take it in the car with you”, she’s wrong. There are audio practice CDs that come with the course. Regarding the high price, I can honestly say that is FUCKING CHEAP. $350 bucks for all three levels of a language?
[..YouTube..] $350 for three lessons is fucking dirt cheap. For the same level of learning at an institution you’ll spend thousands of dollars. Practically thing she has said in this video is false. If it was her giving her opinion, I wouldn’t care so much, but prefer to simply say I disagree. The fact that she’s talking bullshit just to promote her business however, deserves all my wrath.
[..YouTube..] @ctsincebay alright i didn`t know she was promoting a business. in that case, she has her unseemly motives. still, i did agree that rosetta stone is not all it`s cracked up to be.
[..YouTube..] @Floodlezoot yeah again, using a program for a couple of days and then giving up doesn’t qualify you to comment on it’s usefulness.
[..YouTube..] @86Blessed86 too much of an ugly loser. too needs two o`s. an if followed by a vowel.
[..YouTube..] cute girl, but if something has to suck i wish it were her<3
[..YouTube..] @Floodlezoot righto ugly, settle down, you got the short end of the stick with brains and looks, but you can always say,”atleast i can spell” lol
[..YouTube..] I think that this is a very opinionated video.
She tells us Rosetta Stone sucks, it didn’t work for her. But in the comments below there are people that actually found it worked.
If you’re going to tell us RS sucks at least tell us some way which YOU think is a good way to learn another language >:
[..YouTube..] Rosetta Stone is okay for review if you are already learning the language elsewhere. I agree is it way overrated and kind of sucks for learning. You make a good point about ad budgets. This doesn’t just apply to RS, but to many products that are pure trash, but become popular because of commercials.
[..YouTube..] People People People don’y you all know that your best option is the search bar? You have sights like LiveMocha which is quite effective with basic words and phrases for the cost of nothing. Then you can find grammar sites. WikiBooks has grammar and so on. Youtube has countless videos of a plethora of languages. Yes everything does bear a flaw. Get over it. With information coming from everywhere I am sure you will get it right.
[..YouTube..] @thisiskellen ahaha same here i just checked when i read your comment :p
[..YouTube..] I slightly disagree with you on some of this. While I didn’t use Rosetta during my initial 6 months of living in Germany. And after spending time around the natives. After the 2nd 6 months and going through the initial portion of Rosetta, I found it helpful from a tourist manner. And when trying to change the US lifestyle for Europe adapting to the basics of a new culture. Rosetta helped. But I agree, that it is behind with the delivery methods. where is the iphone app?
[..YouTube..] OK, you’re selling something, we get it.
RS definitely gives you a solid foundation; reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
6 months of living in Mexico City and I could hold some basic conversations — forget about writing/grammar/etc. There was no real understanding, just regurgitation.
6 months of RS German (an hour a day) and I have a -very- strong grasp of the language. I’m 100% confident when I’m fully immersed in a foreign country the results will be phenomenal.
It works, period.
[..YouTube..] With the 4th point: You can do all of those things
You should do some research.
[..YouTube..] If you’re learning Japanese or Chinese just try languagebymusic, blogspot, com
[..YouTube..] Should of known this bitch was selling something lol.
[..YouTube..] What spiderman said, minus the female dog thing.
[..YouTube..] You don’t like it because you probably couldn’t figure it out!!!!! I’m a 13 year old american and can speak chinese because of rosetta stone.
[..YouTube..] you can take it anywhere. its called a laptop or iPad. even iPhone.
[..YouTube..] “Until next time.” Please, no next time!!!!!!!
[..YouTube..] You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about, and you just rambeled on for four minutes about how one of the most popular language learning softwares is in every way negative when it’s not. Stop making silly youtube videos and learn some languages. Fucking Idiot.
[..YouTube..] I prefer the Pimsleur way of learning a new language
[..YouTube..] @AndysLanguageBlog She may be a bit harsh, but she makes a point. And then about the talking and thinking she’s right too. The best way to learn a language is a teacher. The very best way would be a native personal teacher working all day with you adressing your personal problems and the special challenges of that individual Language you are about to learn.
[..YouTube..] perty girl
[..YouTube..] Pimsleur Approach completely knocks da COMPLETE shit out of Rosetta Shit.
they shouldnt even name their product after the Rosetta Stone they found in Egypt, they shud juz name it “Dora the Explorerer without Dora”!
Youd be better off watching Dora than wasting $90 on Rosetta Stone
[..YouTube..] ok what u said sounded stupid! if the show you a picture of a blue shirt nd say the shirt is blue, thats not gonna help ……………… its gonna help u rember how to say it when u picture a blue shirt in ur head, how in the world do u expect us to rember!! nd u can have the speaker say it slower so u can understand the vowels this was so UN HELP FUL! im so madd u would bash rosetta stone when their product is GREAT! the spanish one gives you an actual experience of a conversation so!!!! >:(
[..YouTube..] im not agree in all with im speaking 4 languages and i think the method in rosetta stone is not bad in all is a good start to a new languages and if lyou really went a languages you have you learn grammar etc and rosetta stone i think is really useful to learn the basic sentences of a languages and with that you can make better sentences and yes im agree is expensive but for that you have to look the program for free you never hear about TARINGA.COM every single program is free
[..YouTube..] Wow. You have no idea what you’re talking about.
[..YouTube..] Thanks for this nice review. : ) All things I suspected you corraborate. I don’t want to devote my time in front of a puter with overpriced blah blah. Pimsleur is great when I don’t have access to a culture, esp with exotic lingos. It is even good on more familiar ones. At worst it can be stimes boring for false beginners imo but I shall surely avoid this expensive kitchy language learning system called rosetta. Yeah it strikes me as kitch tho I judge without actually trying I grant
[..YouTube..] This reminds me of one of those fitness people telling me that “pushups just don’t work!” and trying to sell me some kind of contraption that does it better.
I’m learning more reading and pronunciation with Rosetta Stone than I was with other methods. I also use Pimsleur and numerous textbooks, but Rosetta Stone is a core component for me.
[..YouTube..] I completely agree with you, Asia, and am surprised by the hostility of the commenters at your very mildly expressed opinion. RS is just good for vocabulary and pronunciation. It doesn’t teach language in *meaningful contexts*, which is how people actually learn languages—not by describing random pictures. RS is an overhyped quasi-scam, and grossly overpriced. I’ve really liked Oxford’s “Take Off In” series. But there’s lots of other things out there way better than Rosetta Stone!
[..YouTube..] Horrible presentation. This is garbage, and I don’t need Rosetta Stone to teach me how to say it. You suck.
[..YouTube..] But you have a wonderful smile. You are very beautiful.
[..YouTube..] @thisiskellen It’s due to what you’ve searched and also the tags on this video. It’s like if you watch game trailers and say…IGN videos your going to get Game ads at the side.
[..YouTube..] You can’t learn a language solely with RS. You must take classes, travel, etc, just to delve into the language. RS is simply a base to the knowledge. I agree that it’s over priced, but i have to disagree that it’s technologically out dated…. i mean do you really need to have something like RS on your phone or on every computer?
[..YouTube..] u suck——-> vales pija … THNKS ROSETTA STONE to teach me how to insult
[..YouTube..] ARE YOU SERIOUSLY COMPLAINING THAT YOU CAN’T TAKE IT WITH YOU?! if you want to learn a language you need to concentrate and at least try to take time to learn it, without having it with you all the time. and yes, just like what Logan5635 said, “The phrases like “the apple is green” is not useful by itself, but it’s teaching you basic sentence structure along with adj, nouns, articles, and verbs at the same time” these things are important.
[..YouTube..] She ‘s so cute
[..YouTube..] Yeah you r right
[..YouTube..] Yeah you r right
[..YouTube..] You’re right on a few of the points you made, extravagant, one computer program, etc. However, you can just rely on just speaking the words alone. I’m learning Korean (I’m on level 2) with Rosetta Stone. The way I learn is by using 2 things: Google Translate (although not really reliable sometimes) and a notebook and pen. I write the phrase down and vocabulary and practice when I’m not on RS. Now I can have a small conversation with my Korean friends: Intros, feelings, weather, etc.
[..YouTube..] You say “uhm, uhm, uhm” too much.
[..YouTube..] I can’t take someone seriously who can’t seem to fully grasp the English language and how to speak without saying “um” at the end of every sentence. Unfortunately, not everyone learns in the same way, but instead of babbling on about how you hate Rosetta Stone, it’d be more helpful to simply suggest what is the best learning product.
[..YouTube..] I guess college doesn’t work for today’s “busy lifestyle” either. Since that’s the only place to learn something. Thus, your one computer is your one place of learning. In this case, a foreign language. A lot of what you said about Rosetta Stone is opinion based.
[..YouTube..] Rosetta Stone is honestly great. I’m learning Farsi and my speaking is becoming great! It is honestly great in my opinion and it’s also helped me speak to my grandma
[..YouTube..] this woman is BEAUTIFUL
[..YouTube..] Couldn’t agree more! I would add that [for Japanese anyway] RS does NOT teach you grammar. For example RS shows you “the boy is running”; the verb is conjugated into the te-iru (ing) form, but they don’t tell you that. Learning grammar requires reading long, boring paragraphs that explain the rules to you. RS actually makes it a selling point that there are no boring paragraphs to read. Well sorry RS, learning languages is supposed to be hard, not fun. The fun comes from the accomplishment.
[..YouTube..] I have a great interest and you could say “obsession” with learning languages, I started teaching myself different languages at 12, I´m fluent in English, German, Dutch (a bit broken), and some Swedish, Finnish, Russian and little Polish, Hungarian and at the moment I´m studying Latvian and French. I´ve seen reviews and examples of Rosetta Stone, and I must say that what this woman is saying seems correct. It dependson how you best learn to use this product.
Even for me, it would never work.
[..YouTube..] @warriorsfan19 I have a great tutor for my learing the Turkish language on youtube:) He also teached me all the verbs, pronouns, subjects..I love his teachings..I use my paper an pen alot too…I just wanted to add to your comment of its writing an memorizing…I put the utube out there for i am poor an can’t afford such products..Thank you for helping me not spend money i dont need too:)))
[..YouTube..] so right
[..YouTube..] I like rosetta stone at least the version I have (vol 3) it teaches using audio, video , and kinesthetics. This has taught me better Spanish in a day the an entire year in highschool, but please if you have any better software suggestions please feel free to let me know.
[..YouTube..] @StolzaKryptz How do you learn ? Do u go to the countries ?
[..YouTube..] Pimsleur Approach people!
[..YouTube..] No software can do what you describe, get your butt out where they speak the language and open your mouth and your ears. Then use the software as a reviewing tool. If you can’t travel, go to a language school and make sure the teacher is teaching his/her native language. (not speaking with an foreign accent). Watch tv, read, make friends, music… just mix it up and don’t be lazy or shy.
[..YouTube..] @ThePhantomLash No, see that’s the crazy thing I’ve never even beet abroad. I just have a natural talent and pick everything up so quickly. I don’t find it too difficult either, I just listen to, watch and read a lot of things in the lagnuages that I wan’t to learn, and I talk online to people in that language – really helps. I tend to learn the grammar before learning actual words and phrases, it’s weird but I then find it easier to understand the structure of the language, then I learn words^^
